ocane's origins go back to COVID lockdowns when ocane Founder Achim Hoffmann needed to take his mind of the imminent health threat at the time. He decided on a "Thought Experiment" in an area where his background was relevant: Climate. He had heard the phrase "There is no Silver Bullet for Climate Change" many times and while the intended underlying message is to do everything we can do NOW to reduce emission, the other message it sent was: don't bother thinking big and outside the box.
A challenge for the engineer and fixer.
While researching the topic he came across an IPCC Chart that changed everything.
We are by now at 500ZJ (Zeta Joules: 21 Zeros) of accumulated Global Warming Energy collected. 40ZJ are roughly the equivalent of 0.1 degree C warming.
Compare that to an annual global primary energy consumption of 0.6 ZJ. We are energy rich, however unfortunately at this stage: the wrong type of energy, not yet useful. Can that be changed?
